Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor – Data Centres – Portugal

We are currently partnering with a globally present Main Contractor who specialise in Industrial, Data Centre, Pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Portugal and contribute to the leadership of the commercial element of this Data Centre construction project.

Responsibilities

•   MEP Cost Planning & Financial Control
Lead cost planning, budget development, and cost monitoring for mechanical, electrical, and public health systems, ensuring accurate forecasting and tight control of complex MEP packages.
•   MEP Procurement & Subcontract Management
Manage procurement of MEP subcontractors and suppliers, including preparation of MEP-specific tender packages, technical evaluations, negotiations, and award recommendations.
•   Technical Contract Administration
Administer MEP contracts by managing valuations, variations, claims, change orders, and progress payments, ensuring alignment with design changes, technical requirements, and programme updates.
•   MEP Commercial Reporting & Risk Analysis
Prepare detailed MEP commercial reports, tracking cost movements, value opportunities, design impacts, and risks, while advising the project team on commercial strategies for MEP delivery.
•   Coordination with Engineering & Project Teams
Work closely with MEP engineers, planners, and project managers to ensure commercial decisions reflect technical constraints, design development, procurement timelines, and installation progress.

Requirements

Must have 10+ years’ experience in a similar role on large-scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
Must have relevant Quantity Surveying or MEP degree level qualifications
Must have EU Passport or RTW in Portugal
