ICP Project Manager

Location: London Salary: to c£65k + bens

Our Client a busy £135m turnover contractor requires an ICP (Independent Connection Provider) Project Manager based in Central London and working on projects across the South East to oversee contractors performing substation and cabling activities within the National Grid and UKPN environment.

You will be suitably qualified from an electrical background, with18th Edition Wiring Regulation certified, Level 2 and 3 Electrical Installation certified and LV Authorised Person/Snr Authorised Person qualifications would be a useful advantage. with at least 3 years experience in Contract Management or Project Management roles in an office-based environment demonstrating a strong organisational skillset for paperwork compiling in line with NERS and company policies working in a similar capacity with the ability to work in a pressured environment as part of a highly focused team, with minimum supervision to meet tight deadlines and the ability to build good working relationships with colleagues and other teams and also with external stakeholders. You would need demonstrate knowledge and experience of at least 5 years of along with a high level of technical awareness and a good understanding of UK Power Networks’ electrical distribution system between 400V and 33kV. You must be able to read and understand architectural plans and drawings and posses good computer skills.

Responsibilities will include

  • Managing & coordinating ICP works/projects from concept through to practical completion including the management and coordination of the final connection works of a large portfolio of new connection and network alteration projects installed by Independent Connection Providers (ICP/s) across all 3 license areas in UK Power Networks footprint and with potential to extend out to other DNO’s.
  • Programming/planning of works & the coordination of the commercial elements of the project.
  • Monitor project expenditure and ensure correct allocation of costs. Identify any cost variation and ensure all additional spend is recovered.
  • Develop and maintain good levels of communication with customers/clients
  • Monitor legal issues and ensure legal completion is achieved prior to connection.
  • Preparing all works orders and contracts for the engagement and appointment of sub-contractors and ensure contracts are compliant with all legislation, Health & Safety matters, policy and good practice.
