Mechanical Lead – Data Centre Project – Norway – Germany – Netherland
A specialist European contractor delivering complex, high-value data centre builds across the Nordics is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to take ownership of mechanical systems delivery on a major hyperscale project in Norway.
With a growing reputation for quality execution and technical excellence in the mission-critical sector, this contractor offers the chance to lead within a high-performing team on some of the most technically advanced projects in Europe.
This is a full-time, site-based role for a mechanically focused professional with strong leadership skills and a background in complex building services or mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the full mechanical installation scope including chilled water systems, CRAC units, ductwork, ventilation, drainage, and fuel systems.
Lead coordination with subcontractors, vendors, and internal delivery teams to ensure works are executed to spec, on time, and within safety and quality standards.
Review mechanical drawings, installation plans, and technical submittals to ensure alignment with client requirements.
Manage progress tracking, snagging, QA/QC, and documentation for all mechanical systems.
Liaise with commissioning teams to support system pre-testing, flushing, and functional testing.
Coordinate daily site activities and interface closely with electrical, civil, and commissioning teams.
Enforce best-in-class safety practices and promote a culture of ownership and accountability across site teams.
Candidate Profile:
Mechanically qualified – degree, diploma, or certified trade background in mechanical or building services.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory or lead mechanical role on large-scale construction or data centre projects.
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, BMS, fire suppression, and fuel systems.
Comfortable leading subcontractors and managing complex installation packages.
Experience working in mission-critical or technically demanding environments is essential.
Fluent in English; prior experience in the Nordics is an advantage.
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Norway – accommodation and travel package provided.
