Location: Sunderland Salary: £40,000- 45,000 DOE + Package

£40,000- 45,000 DOE + Package + Car/Travel Allowance 

We are partnered with a leading housing contractor known for their commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability searching for a dedicated Assistant Site Manager. As Assistant Site Manager, you will support the team in overseeing all on-site activities and ensuring construction projects are completed safely, on time, and within the budget.  

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:  

  • Assist the Site Manager in managing daily operations on the construction site ensuring that all work is carried out according to project plans, specifications, and schedules.  

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and report any non-compliance issues to the Site Manager, helping in ensuring all site activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.  

  • Help maintain high standards of workmanship and materials on site and report any quality issues or defects to the Site Manager.  

  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of work.  

  • Attend regular team meetings and contribute to the discussion of project progress, addressing issues, and plan upcoming tasks.  

  • Assist in maintaining updated project documentations, progress reports and safety records ready for review or submission to senior management.  

  • Assist in conducting regular inspections of work in progress and completed work to ensure quality control, BCAR co-ordination and address any quality issues promptly and effectively. 

  • Collaborate with Contracts Manager to ensure that they are updated on project progress and all financial, specification and time risks ensuring that all changes are discussed. 

  • Degree/qualifications in Construction Management or related field.  

  • SMSTS, CSCS, Scaffolding Inspection, and First Aid qualifications are essential. 

  • Proven ability to help in managing projects and deliver results within budget and schedule.  

  • Strong knowledge of project execution in the construction industry.  

  • Strong verbal & written communication and problem-solving skills.  

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
