The Company

A leading Irish contractor in modular construction, building very large containment facilities for BSL Laboratories, Biopharma Cold-rooms & Stability Storage facilities, cGMP, Data Centres all over mainland Europe

 

The Project

 A very large Containment and modular design & build construction project in Germany with a considerable Interiors package involving drywall whitewall ceilings & floors; for a globally operating client housing a data centre,

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Managing all construction related environmental, quality, health and safety matters.
  • Develop and implement programs, processes, and procedures to support environmental, quality, health, and safety programs, including training of personnel, including Regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise on safety, quality, health, fire and environmental conditions and requirements for all departments of the company.
  • Partner with construction team to ensure that corrective and/ or preventive measures are implemented to avoid issues and minimize risk by analysing impacts and proposing achievable solutions to EQH&S items
  • Evaluate hazardous conditions and practices and develop appropriate preventive control programs and procedures.
  • Prepare all EQH&S reports and prequalification documents required by clients or company personnel.
  • Identify environmentally sensitive activities of the project scope of work and include assessment during project risk assessments.
  • Develop and continuously improve and implement environmental policies and procedures to ensure we have the most positive impact on the environment
  • Ensure the company are following and implementing best possible environmental practices
  • Coordinate all QA/QC activities with project managers.
  • Draft, execute and drive the EQH&S policy, including development of Global Prevention Plan and Annual Action Plan.
  • Perform root cause analysis and investigate incidents and accidents, and write extensive reports including action points.
  • Remain up to date on all applicable legislation; ensure that the sites comply with all governmental and local regulations as well as with internal policies and procedures

 

Education/Experience Requirement:

 

  • Level 8 or Higher in a related Qualification
  • 5 Years+ in a related role.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and OHSAS 18001 compliance and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of formal EQHS system audits and requirements.
  • Good effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong training ability.
  • Good motivational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Good coordinating skills working with personnel, management, suppliers and subcontractors.
