Our company is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to be working onsite in Skelleftea, Sweden for a leading engineering services contractor currently involved in complex technical projects in life sciences, pharmaceutical and data centre schemes across Europe. The organisation’s division includes Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sprinkler and Fire Protection and also offer other exceptional services in Off Site Fabrication, Waste to Energy (BioEnergy), Technical Support Services, Asset Management, Specialist Lift, Maintenance, BIM (Building Information Modelling) and Geo-Surveying. As our Senior Mechanical QA/QC Engineer you will be reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing mechanical installations quality for a large value, high-tech facility. Responsibilities include equipment & material receipt inspections, fabrication inspections, weld inspections, installation inspections & documentation, generation of punchlists and de-snagging. The successful candidate will be required to liaise with in-house mechanical team & subcontractors and external project partners including vendors and contractors. 

Key Responsibilities & Requirements includes:

  • Academic and/or trades qualifications in mechanical discipline.

  • 10 years Mechanical QA/QC experience in Industrial-type projects with minimum of 5 years experience in senior roles.

  • Good communication skills and presentation is essential.

  • Ability to present specification requirements and demonstrate compliance is essential.

  • Industrial and process project experience preferable.

  • Knowledge and experience of piping and HVAC systems required.

  • Weld inspection qualifications is required. 

  • Familiarity with EN standards is required.

  • Role will comprise QAQC walkdown, inspection and documentation associated with Equipment, Piping systems (carbon steel), HVAC ducting systems, Plumbing & drainage systems, Preparation of test packs, witnessing of pressure testing.

  • Maintaining and presenting weld information & records. 

  • Weekly reporting on QAQC performance, troubleshooting, preparation of punch lists, punch clearance verification.

  • The candidate will be required to work closely with the Project Manager and construction team to ensure quality standards are achieved with minimal snags.
