Quantity Surveyor – Hotel Refurbishment – Bristol - Freelance Our client, a respected main contractor specialising in high-quality refurbishment and fit-out projects, is seeking a Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team on a hotel refurbishment project in Bristol. Working alongside the existing QS, you will play a key role in driving the project through its final phases, ensuring accurate cost management, smooth commercial delivery, and a successful completion. Responsibilities • Cost Control & Final Financial Tracking Requirements Must have 6+ years’ experience in a similar role preferably on refurbishment projects Benefits £325 - £385 per day
Support the existing QS in managing project costs, monitoring remaining budgets, and ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date for the final stages of the refurbishment.
• Variations & Change Management
Review outstanding variations, assess entitlement, prepare documentation, and assist in negotiating and agreeing changes with subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Subcontractor Management & Valuations
Carry out monthly valuations, verify subcontractor applications, and ensure payments are processed correctly and in line with contractual obligations.
• Commercial Reporting & Forecasting
Assist with preparing cost reports, cashflow forecasts, and commercial updates for senior management to support informed decision-making during project close-out.
• Final Accounts & Project Close-Out
Work with the project team to prepare, negotiate, and agree final accounts, ensuring all commercial matters are concluded efficiently and the project is closed out smoothly.
Must have degree level qualifications
Must be based within commutable distance of site in Bristol
