Health and Safety Manager – Cleanroom – Stevenage

We are currently partnering with a leading fit-out Main Contractor specialising in Commercial, Higher Education and Science Facilities. Having demonstrated huge success across London they are now seeking to further expand their team with a Health and Safety Manager in Stevenage.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site Health, Safety & Environmental compliance
Ensure all works on the commercial fit-out project adhere to UK H&S legislation, industry best practice, and company policies.
Conduct site inspections & audits
Carry out regular safety walks, inspections, and formal audits, identifying hazards, non-conformances, and implementing corrective actions.
Drive safety culture & behavioural standards
Engage with site teams, subcontractors, and project leadership to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure consistent HSE behaviours across site.
Manage RAMS, permits & HSE documentation
Review and approve Risk Assessments & Method Statements, oversee permit-to-work systems, and maintain accurate HSE records and reporting.
Lead incident investigations & reporting
Respond to incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts; conduct root cause investigations; and produce clear reports with preventative recommendations.

Requirements

Must have 5+ years in a similar role preferably on commercial fit out projects
Must have valid health and safety qualifications (i.e. NEBOSH)
Must be based within commutable distance of site in Stevenage
