Project Manager Architectural Metalwork Key Responsibilities In Return, Our Client Offers

Our client is a specialist architectural metalwork contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality façade and balcony solutions across complex residential and mixed-use developments. With in-house capabilities spanning design development, fabrication, and installation, the company is recognised for its technical expertise and end-to-end project delivery.
They are currently seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to oversee the installation phase of a large-scale residential scheme in Central London.
This scheme comprises 386 balcony and inset balustrade units, for which the contractor has been responsible from initial design development through to fabrication, and now installation on site. The successful candidate will take ownership of the installation programme, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with site teams, main contractor representatives, design teams, and subcontractors, the Freelance Project Manager will play a key role in coordinating installation activities and driving programme performance on a fast-paced city-centre project.
• Manage and coordinate the installation of 300+ balcony and balustrade units on a major residential project in Central London
• Oversee site operations, ensuring works are delivered in line with programme, quality standards, and safety requirements
• Act as the primary point of contact between the metalwork contractor and the main contractor/site team
• Coordinate logistics, deliveries, and installation sequencing in a constrained urban environment
• Monitor progress on site and implement measures to maintain programme milestones
• Ensure all installations are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and design intent
• Manage subcontractors and installation teams, ensuring productivity and quality standards are maintained
• Identify and resolve technical and site-related issues in collaboration with design and engineering teams
• Maintain accurate reporting on progress, risks, and programme updates
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
• Support snagging, quality inspections, and final handover of balcony and balustrade packages
