Senior Mechanical Engineer – Data Centre Project – Amsterdam, Netherlands

€80,000–€90,000 + €1,200/month Net Living Allowance + Flights + Accommodation + Rotation

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be a core part of a highly skilled site team, helping drive forward the design, coordination, and installation of critical mechanical systems on a live, high-value project.

Role Summary:

You’ll take ownership of the on-site mechanical delivery, coordinating closely with subcontractors and internal departments to ensure installation progress, technical compliance, and safety are maintained across the mechanical workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily mechanical works and support site-based execution of systems
• Oversee installation sequencing, working closely with subcontractors and project managers
• Review and prepare method statements, RAMS, and safety documentation
• Ensure project-specific mechanical deliverables and QA standards are met
• Manage relationships with suppliers and specialist subcontractors
• Support commercial elements including variations, valuations, and final accounts
• Track project schedule milestones and support pre-commissioning phases
• Report project progress and changes to the wider MEP and client teams

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a site-based capacity
• Previous experience on data centres, pharma, or high-tech industrial projects
• Solid knowledge of mechanical building systems (HVAC, chilled water, pipework, etc.)
• Excellent documentation, reporting, and technical communication skills
• Commercial awareness and supplier coordination experience
• Familiarity with international standards and safety compliance
• Willingness to work on-site in Amsterdam on a rotation basis

Salary & Package:

• Base salary: €80,000 – €90,000 (local contract)
• €1,200/month net living allowance
