Location: Germany, Germany Salary: £100k + housing, flights

Our client is a €2bn turnover, Tier:1 main contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major, complex schemes with a particular emphasis on Data Centres, Pharmaceutical and Life Science projects

Due to continued growth in the region of their Data Centre division, our client is now seeking an experienced Planner to join their European Data Centre team based in Dusseldorf, Germany 

This role will sit within their team that undertakes retrofits and upgrades to existing data centre facilities. You will play a key role in developing, monitoring, and reporting on construction schedules from pre-construction through to commissioning, ensuring alignment with the company’s Planning Standards and Procedures (SOP).

Core Responsibilities Include:
•    Take responsibility for planning on assigned project(s), ensuring all phases are accurately scheduled and tracked.
•    Be the interface between the Planning Department and the wider project or business unit teams.
•    Build and maintain detailed project schedules covering pre-construction, build, and commissioning phases.
•    Create and manage progress-tracking systems and databases to inform reporting.
•    Generate regular progress and performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
•    Carry out milestone forecasting, float path assessments, and delay analysis.
•    Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) systems to monitor productivity and cost performance.
•    Track project performance against schedule and highlight variances.
•    Conduct site-based audits to assess and validate reported progress.
•    Represent planning in client and subcontractor meetings, providing updates and coordination.
•    Develop tender-stage programmes and pre-construction schedules.
•    Prepare resource and workforce histograms to support planning outputs.
•    Lead and contribute to project planning meetings and workshops.
•    Support short-term planning functions including weekly workface planning.
•    Load schedules with resource and cost data to inform forecasting and payment cycles.
•    Provide planning input for interim payment applications and monthly valuations.
•    Contribute to internal contract reviews with planning data and insights.
•    Ensure all reports and schedules meet the required quality and accuracy standards.
•    Identify emerging risks, highlight planning issues, and propose practical solutions.
•    Maintain accurate records of delay events and disruptions.
•    Assist in the development of claims and the resolution of disputes, supplying relevant data.
•    Undertake additional planning duties as required to support project success.

Applicants should demonstrate the following:
•    A minimum of 5 years’ planning experience on major construction projects.
•    Proficiency in planning software, especially Primavera P6, with solid Excel skills and familiarity with Earned Value principles.
•    Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and methodologies.
•    Ability to independently produce and manage programmes using a combination of drawings, models, and scope documents.
•    Comfortable managing planning on large-scale projects with minimal supervision. 
•    Able to thrive under pressure and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
