MEP Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre - Amsterdam

Our client is an established main contractor working across Europe specialising in the delivery of Data Centre construction projects on behalf of global blue-chip clients. They offer a full turnkey service for their clients from design, construction and handover across the full range of CSA (civil, structural, architectural), MEP (mechanical and electrical) and commissioning works

The need now exists for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team working on a Hyper-Scale Data Centre new build scheme in Netherlands.

Responsibilities

Cost Management & Reporting:
Oversee all MEP-related cost planning and control, including preparation of monthly valuations, cost reports, and final accounts in alignment with project budget and timelines.
Subcontractor Procurement & Administration:
Manage the end-to-end procurement process for MEP subcontractors. Ensure contract compliance, accurate scope alignment, and timely administration of payments and variations.
Change Control & Variation Management:
Identify, evaluate, and manage MEP scope changes. Prepare and negotiate variation orders, ensuring commercial impacts are captured and client approvals are secured.
Quantity Take-offs & BOQ Development:
Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications. Support in the preparation and maintenance of Bills of Quantities to ensure cost certainty throughout the project lifecycle.
Commercial Risk & Contract Compliance:
Monitor and mitigate commercial risks associated with MEP works. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, local regulations, and internal governance protocols.

Requirements

Must have relevant MEP or Commercial degree level qualification
Must have 8+ years’ experience in a similar role on Data Centre construction projects or similar large scale MEP construction projects (i.e. Pharmaceutical)
Must have EU Passport or RTW in Netherlands
