Recognised as one of the most trusted names in the mission-critical sector, this company works with global hyperscale clients, delivering projects that push the boundaries of innovation and technical excellence.Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join their expanding team on a major hyperscale data centre project in Zurich.
As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role, overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems on a cutting-edge data centre build. You will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors, ensuring that safety, quality, and schedule targets are achieved, while also driving collaboration between trades to achieve seamless delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Report directly to the Mechanical Construction Manager and Mechanical Project Manager.
Ensure all mechanical subcontractors work to agreed schedules and priorities to achieve project milestones.
Track subcontractor progress, identify delays, and develop mitigation plans to recover lost time.
Coordinate mechanical works with other trades, including electrical and CSA, to ensure smooth workflows.
Lead site safety management with HSE teams, ensuring strict compliance with RAMS and SPAs.
Oversee QA processes alongside the QA Manager, ensuring installation meets specifications and approved benchmarks.
Verify installed materials and equipment comply with approved technical submittals.
Conduct snagging inspections and ensure timely closure of all issues.
Support commissioning teams to meet project handover and performance targets.
Prepare daily site reports and review subcontractor reporting.
Ensure all subcontractors have materials, access, and resources ready to maintain work continuity.
Participate in daily planning and coordination meetings, including whiteboards, EHS, and QA sessions.
Requirements
Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a mechanical supervision or construction management role.
Mechanical trade or engineering background is essential.
Previous experience on data centre projects preferred but not essential.
Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors on large-scale projects.
Proficiency with MS Office and construction QA software.
Fluent in English with strong communication and leadership skills.
EU passport or right to work in Switzerland/Germany is highly preferred.
