As part of their ongoing expansion across mainland Europe, the company is now seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their delivery team on a new-build hyperscale data centre project in Portugal.
This is a key site-based role responsible for the coordination, management, and successful delivery of all mechanical systems from early design through to commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring technical excellence, programme compliance, and seamless integration of all mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead the coordination, installation, and delivery of all mechanical systems across the project.
Manage the interface between mechanical design development, specialist subcontractors, and site operations.
Oversee technical reviews, constructability assessments, and installation methodologies for mechanical systems.
Monitor mechanical progress against programme, identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities.
Ensure all mechanical installations meet required quality, safety, and compliance standards.
Drive commissioning readiness, testing protocols, system balancing, and final integration.
Chair mechanical coordination meetings and provide regular updates to the Project Director.
Collaborate closely with design consultants, client representatives, and specialist suppliers.
Support procurement of major mechanical packages, including scope definition and technical evaluation.
Proven experience delivering mechanical systems on large-scale construction projects, ideally data centres, advanced industrial facilities, or similar mission-critical builds.
Strong understanding of mechanical design, coordination, installation, and commissioning processes.
Familiarity with HVAC systems, chilled water, CRAC/CRAH units, ductwork, pipework, pumps, and specialist plant.
Ability to manage multiple mechanical packages and subcontractors in a fast-paced technical environment.
Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
Relevant mechanical engineering degree or trade engineering background.
Previous experience working on major European projects is highly desirable.
