Mechanical Construction Manager – Hyperscale Data Centre – Amsterdam, Netherlands

€80,000–€90,000 + €1,200/month Net Living Allowance + Flights + Accommodation + Rotation

A market-leading European contractor delivering large-scale, mission-critical projects across the continent is seeking a Mechanical Construction Manager to join a hyperscale data centre project in Amsterdam. With over 500MW of IT load under active delivery, this business is expanding rapidly and offers long-term career growth across Europe’s most complex technical builds.

This site-based role is ideal for a mechanically qualified professional with experience managing installation, subcontractors, and programme delivery on fast-track industrial or data centre projects.

Role Overview:

You will lead the on-site mechanical package through installation, testing, and handover—managing quality, safety, labour, and materials while working closely with the project delivery and MEP teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage mechanical subcontractors across HVAC, pipework, and system installation
• Coordinate all on-site mechanical activities with the project team and client
• Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and safety plans
• Monitor labour levels and ensure programme milestones are achieved
• Support procurement and manage delivery, storage, and installation of mechanical equipment
• Maintain site quality, compliance, and safety culture
• Track progress, raise variations, and contribute to valuations and cost reporting
• Maintain excellent client communication and reporting
• Enforce housekeeping, compliance, and safe working conditions across the site

 Candidate Requirements:

• Relevant mechanical qualification (BEng, HNC, NVQ, or similar)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical construction management
• Experience in data centres, pharma, cleanrooms, or high-tech industrial projects
• Strong planning, communication, and leadership skills
• Comfortable managing large subcontractor teams and multiple mechanical systems
• Proficient in documentation, reporting, and safety protocols
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Amsterdam on a rotation basis

 Salary & Package:

• €80,000 – €90,000 base salary (local contract)
• €1,200/month net living allowance
