Health and Safety Officer – Portugal | Leading MEP Contractor | Immediate Start

€45K–€55K Gross (DOE) |Temporary with Ongoing Renewal | Local Hire | EU Passport Required
 

We’re seeking an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join a major MEP contractor on an exciting project in Portugal. This is a temporary position with bi-weekly renewal, offering the chance to transition into a long-term or permanent role for the right candidate.
 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated EHS professional who is passionate about safety leadership, compliance, and driving a proactive safety culture within a fast-paced construction environment.
 

Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor site health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks
• Ensure compliance with Portuguese EHS legislation and client standards
• Deliver safety inductions and training sessions for site personnel
• Report, investigate, and close out incidents and near misses
• Collaborate with project management to foster a positive safety culture

Requirements:

• Mandatory Portugal EHS Certification
• 3+ years’ experience as a Health & Safety Officer in construction or MEP environments
• Excellent knowledge of Portuguese HSE laws and best practices
• Strong communication, leadership, and reporting skills
• EU Passport / Right to Work in Portugal required
