Electrical Engineer

Data Centre Construction – Amsterdam, Netherlands
Our client is a leading international engineering & construction main contractor specialising in the delivery of large-scale data centre projects across Europe. Operating on a full turnkey basis, the company delivers projects from initial design and civil works through to M&E installation, commissioning, and final handover. With a strong pipeline of hyperscale developments and consistent growth, they are recognised for delivering high-quality, mission-critical facilities.
Due to continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the team on a major data centre project in Amsterdam.
The Electrical Engineer will play a key role in the delivery of complex electrical systems across the project, ensuring installation works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with design specifications and project requirements. Working closely with the wider MEP team, subcontractors, and commissioning engineers, you will support the coordination of electrical works from installation through to testing and final handover.
This is a fast-paced, technically demanding environment, offering excellent exposure to large-scale, high-value data centre construction.

Key Responsibilities
• Support the coordination and management of electrical installation activities on site
• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and technical submittals for compliance
• Work closely with subcontractors to ensure works are delivered in line with programme milestones
• Monitor site installations to ensure quality standards and safety procedures are maintained
• Assist in the preparation and review of method statements and risk assessments
• Support commissioning teams during testing, energisation, and handover phases
• Track progress and provide regular updates to project management
• Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and test results
• Identify and resolve technical issues relating to electrical systems
• Liaise with mechanical, civil, and commissioning teams to ensure coordinated delivery
• Promote and maintain a strong health & safety culture on site

Requirements
• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer within construction or data centre projects
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and commissioning processes
• Experience working within mission-critical or fast-paced project environments is advantageous
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Relevant engineering qualification (degree or equivalent)
