Commissioning Engineer Sweden · Gävle A leading European data centre delivery organisation is seeking a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery of the mechanical commissioning package on a large-scale data centre project. The role involves working closely with the Commissioning Manager, internal project teams, and external vendors to ensure all mechanical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities • Support development of the mechanical commissioning strategy and schedule with the wider Cx team and project stakeholders. Requirements • Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or relevant trade background with significant engineering experience. • Monitor mechanical installations for compliance with design specifications, quality requirements, and safety standards before testing begins.
• Supervise and witness FATs, SATs, and IST for mechanical equipment such as chillers, AHUs, and CRAH units.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure attendance and timely completion of their scope.
• Review and manage commissioning documentation including Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Test Scripts, Compliance Statements, and maintain up-to-date “Red Line” drawings and handover files.
• Snag works, manage the punch list, and drive zero-defect handover.
• Participate in daily and weekly commissioning meetings with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with project health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Previous experience in a commissioning or mechanical engineering role within a construction environment (data centre, pharmaceutical, or industrial preferred).
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems and the design-and-build environment.
• Experience with BMS desirable but not essential.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
