As part of their expanding operations across mainland Europe, the company is now seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their Data Centre delivery team in Berlin, Germany, working on a major new-build hyperscale data centre project.
This is a permanent, full-time role ideal for candidates already based in Germany who are eager to develop their commercial career within a market-leading international contractor. The position offers excellent mentorship, structured career progression, and exposure to large-scale, technically advanced projects.
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the project’s commercial team in managing costs, contracts, and procurement activities. Working closely with senior surveyors and the commercial manager, you’ll help ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth delivery of the project’s commercial objectives while developing your technical and professional skills.
• Assist in the preparation and review of tender and contract documentation.
• Support in evaluating subcontractor quotations and supplier proposals.
• Help with drafting subcontract agreements and managing purchase orders.
• Contribute to cost tracking, change management, and variation control.
• Assist in preparing interim valuations and payment applications.
• Help manage subcontractor accounts and ensure contractual compliance.
• Support with monthly cost reporting and project forecasting.
• Maintain project records and assist with financial audits.
• Collaborate with design, procurement, and delivery teams to support commercial outcomes.
• Degree-qualified or currently studying towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
• Ideally 1–3 years’ experience in a construction commercial role (placement, internship, or junior QS experience).
• Basic understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English; German language skills are an advantage.
• Must be currently based in Germany or have the right to work there.
