A leading European data centre delivery specialist is seeking an experienced Mechanical Package Manager to join a major hyperscale project in Portugal.
 

This role is suited to a senior mechanical construction professional with strong package management expertise. You will oversee the full mechanical scope — design coordination, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning — ensuring delivery is safe, on programme, within budget, and aligned with quality standards.
 

The Mechanical Package Manager will take ownership of the mechanical systems package, coordinating subcontractors and project teams to drive successful delivery from design through handover. This position requires strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage complex technical packages in fast-paced mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full mechanical package from design to commissioning
• Oversee site safety and promote a strong QHSE culture
• Coordinate subcontractor activities and performance
• Manage project schedule, resources, and cost control
• Track and report on variations, valuations, and change management
• Maintain documentation, snagging systems, and progress records
• Prepare internal and client progress reports
• Attend site meetings, coordination sessions, and handovers
• Support project close-out including O&M documentation
• Schedule and manage material deliveries
• Implement company procedures and best practice standards
• Drive quality and performance across mechanical works

Essential Criteria

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• Proven experience in mechanical project/package management
• Experience in large-scale projects (data centres advantageous)
• Strong commercial and technical management capability
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and compliance standards
• Excellent leadership and organisational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office and mechanical project tools
