A leading European engineering and construction specialist is seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to take responsibility for the mechanical package on a large-scale data centre project in Frankfurt.
 

You will lead the mechanical delivery on site, managing safety, quality, programme, cost, and subcontractor performance while supporting and mentoring engineers and supervisors within your team.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead site safety for the mechanical package in coordination with the project and safety teams
  • Manage mechanical QA processes from set-up through to close-out
  • Control programme delivery in line with project schedules and client requirements
  • Manage all costs associated with the mechanical package, including labour, subcontractors, materials, plant, variations, and valuations
  • Oversee day-to-day mechanical site operations and subcontractor performance
  • Track progress, manpower, and productivity against programme
  • Ensure procurement schedules are in place and materials are delivered on time
  • Manage snagging and punch list close-out
  • Attend site, planning, coordination, and handover meetings
  • Prepare and issue weekly progress, safety, and labour reports
  • Support change management for cost and programme impacts
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and supervisors
  • Ensure all documentation (QA, safety, O&M manuals) is maintained and closed out correctly

Requirements

  • Trade background and/or relevant third-level qualification
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Mechanical Lead, Package Manager, or Project Engineering role
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale mechanical installation projects
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety and design & build environments
  • Good technical understanding of mechanical systems (electrical knowledge beneficial)
  • Strong organisational, reporting, and IT skills
