Design Manager – Data Centres – Portugal We are currently partnering with a globally present Main Contractor who specialise in Industrial, Data Centre, Pharmaceutical and advanced manufacturing projects. Due to continued growth, they are seeking Design Managers to join them in Sines on a Hyperscale Data Centre construction project. Take full ownership of Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) design coordination across multiple buildings/phases within a live data centre campus, ensuring alignment with programme, sequencing, and construction methodology.
Manage Design Interfaces with MEP & Specialist Packages
Drive seamless integration between CSA and MEP systems, working closely with internal engineering teams and specialist subcontractors to eliminate clashes, optimise buildability, and support fast-track delivery.
Oversee Design Programme & Technical Submissions
Develop, manage, and track the CSA design programme, ensuring timely production, review, and approval of drawings, specifications, and technical submittals in line with project milestones.
Champion Buildability, Value Engineering & Innovation
Proactively review design solutions to enhance constructability, reduce cost, and improve efficiency, leveraging modern construction techniques and prefabrication strategies suited to large-scale data centre environments.
Ensure Compliance, Quality & Stakeholder Alignment
Maintain strict adherence to local regulations, client standards, and project specifications, while managing stakeholder engagement across consultants, contractors, and client teams to ensure design intent is delivered on site.
Must have 5+ years’ experience in a similar role including experience on Data Centre construction projects
Must be based within a commutable distance of Sines, Portugal
