Our client is a large and well-established MEP Sub-Contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major Mechanical & Electrical Packages on behalf of Tier:1 main contractors involved in large, complex projects including Commercial, Data Centres, Pharmaceutical and heavy industrial projects. Our client is now seeking an experienced BMS Project Manager / Controls Lead to join the team delivering a major commercial and mixed-use development in Central London The BMS Project Manager / Controls Lead will oversee and coordinate all commissioning activities on-site, including those performed by subcontractors and direct labour. This role is critical in ensuring that all systems are inspected, tested, and commissioned in line with project specifications, industry standards, and company values. We are seeking a skilled and motivated BMS Manager to lead and support the delivery of Building Management System (BMS) elements across multiple projects — from design through to commissioning. Working closely with Project Engineers and other stakeholders, you will ensure technical excellence, commercial efficiency, and the safe execution of BMS systems.
• Oversee day-to-day BMS delivery across multiple live projects.
• Provide strong leadership and technical guidance to Project Engineers.
• Innovate and implement efficient, high-quality solutions for BMS delivery.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and leverage existing tools to enhance project outcomes and safety.
• Lead BMS commercial activities in collaboration with project teams.
• Manage and monitor project programmes, report any delays, and support recovery planning.
• Provide executive-level reporting to senior management.
• Offer technical support for bids and contribute to securing new business opportunities.
• Act as the BMS subject matter expert across the business unit.
• Lead the procurement process for BMS packages across multiple projects.
• Manage and coordinate BMS subcontractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned by your line manager.
• Proven experience in a BMS Manager role or similar leadership position.
• Strong understanding of BMS systems from concept through to commissioning.
• Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and subcontractors.
• Good understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental practices and compliance.
• Ability to assess and support team performance and development needs.
• Able to prioritise workload effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-aware, open to feedback, and committed to ongoing personal and professional development.
• Takes ownership and accountability for responsibilities and outcomes.
