£35m Commercial Fit Out – Belfast

We’re looking for an experienced Site Manager to take the reins on a £35 million commercial fit out project in Belfast, working for a leading Main Contractor. This is a 12-month freelance contract – ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to get things done without the drama.

The Role
You’ll be the on-site lead, responsible for driving the programme, coordinating trades, ensuring top-notch quality, and keeping health & safety tighter than a snag list before handover. Reporting into the Project Manager, you'll be the glue between subcontractors, consultants, and clients – making sure everything runs smoother than freshly plastered walls.

Key Responsibilities
•   Day-to-day site management of a major commercial fit out
•   Managing subcontractors and site logistics
•   Monitoring programme, progress, and quality control
•   Ensuring site health & safety is up to scratch (and then some)
•   Attending progress meetings and reporting site updates
•   Troubleshooting problems before they become problems
•   Keeping morale high and chaos low

Requirements
•   Proven experience managing large commercial fit out projects (ideally £10m+)
•   CSCS (black or white card preferred)
•   SMSTS
•   First Aid at Work
•   Strong understanding of fit out sequencing, detail finishes, and managing multiple trades
•   Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and able to keep a sense of humour when the coffee machine breaks

•   Competitive day rate depending on experience
