Senior MEP Project Manager Data Centre Project, Cologne, Germany Our client is a leading engineering and construction main contractor delivering major new-build data centre projects across Northern and Central Europe. Specialising in full turnkey delivery, the company manages all phases of development — from initial design and groundworks through to structural build, MEP installation, commissioning, and final handover. Due to the award of a €500m+ hyperscale data centre project in Cologne, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior MEP Project Manager to join the project leadership team.
• Manage and oversee mechanical, electrical, and public health subcontractors, ensuring progress aligns with project schedule and milestones.
• Ensure all MEP works are executed safely and in compliance with company Health & Safety policies and standards.
• Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of MEP systems, ensuring full compliance with specification, design intent, and programme requirements.
• Conduct regular site inspections across MEP and CSA interfaces to ensure installation quality meets project and industry standards.
• Review and coordinate temporary construction services to ensure suitability for ongoing construction and commissioning phases.
• Chair project meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, client representatives, and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure rooms and work areas achieve required MEP and CSA quality standards for advanced beneficial use in alignment with the master programme
• Provide timely technical and progress information to all stakeholders to support sequencing, access, and system installation needs
• Monitor the master construction schedule, identifying opportunities to optimise MEP sequencing and accelerate delivery.
• Produce weekly progress, risk, and cost reports for senior management.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or a strong technical trade background.
• Minimum 7–10 years’ experience in site-based MEP project management, including leadership roles on large-scale or hyperscale data centre projects.
• Strong understanding of MEP installation, commissioning, and mission-critical systems.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced, large-value construction environments.
