Senior Electrical Design Manager – Data Centre – Remote

We are currently partnering with a multidisciplinary consultancy with a global record of successful delivery on a range of projects including, but not limited to, Data Centres, Recladding, Medical Projects, Nursing homes, Clinics and many more.

Due to continuous growth, they are now seeking a well experienced Senior Electrical Design Manager to lead Data Centre construction projects across the UK and Europe.

Responsibilities

•   Lead electrical design development for mission critical systems
Own the full design lifecycle for electrical systems including medium voltage, low voltage, UPS solutions, standby generation, earthing, lighting and distribution. Ensure all designs meet data centre performance requirements, energy efficiency targets and client expectations.
•   Produce and review detailed design documentation
Develop concept studies, preliminary and detailed design packages, technical specifications, load calculations, schematics and single line diagrams. Review drawings and reports from junior engineers and external partners to guarantee technical accuracy and consistency.
•   Coordinate with multidisciplinary design teams and external stakeholders
Collaborate closely with mechanical, architectural, structural and specialist consultants, ensuring electrical designs are fully integrated. Maintain regular engagement with client teams, end users and project managers to align design intent with project goals and technical standards.
•   Provide technical support through procurement, construction and commissioning
Respond to technical queries, assist with equipment selection, support tender evaluations and review contractor submissions. Offer design assurance during installation, testing and commissioning stages to ensure constructed works match the approved design.
•   Ensure compliance with codes, standards and best practice for data centre design
Apply relevant international design standards, local regulations and industry guidelines for mission critical facilities. Implement quality control measures, contribute to internal design reviews and support continuous improvement across design processes.

Requirements

Must have 8+ years’ experience in a similar role working consultancy/client side on large scale construction projects (including Data Centres)
Must have relevant degree level qualifications
Must have excellent communication skills (both written and oral)

Benefits

Up to £125,000 per annum + Remote working
