We are working with a leading engineering contractor delivering major data centre projects across Europe. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior EHS Lead to join their on-site project team in Amsterdam.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving Environmental, Health & Safety performance across a large-scale hyperscale data centre project. You will lead site safety strategy, oversee compliance, manage EHS teams, and ensure the highest standards of safety culture, risk control, and operational excellence.

This role suits an experienced EHS professional who can take ownership of site-wide safety delivery, influence project teams, and lead from the front in a fast-paced mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and coordinate all EHS activities across a major data centre construction project
• Ensure compliance with HSE legislation, project safety plans, and company management systems
• Drive a proactive safety culture across all contractors, subcontractors, and project teams
• Lead risk assessments, method statement reviews, permit-to-work and control processes
• Manage site audits, inspections, observations, and corrective action close-out
• Lead and mentor the project EHS team, supporting consistent safety delivery across site
• Interface with clients and senior management on EHS performance, risks and actions
• Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and awareness programmes across the workforce
• Manage hazardous substances, REACH compliance, and environmental controls
• Support reporting, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives

About You
• Degree or qualification in Environmental Health & Safety or similar
• Strong EHS leadership experience on large-scale construction projects
• Data centre, industrial, pharma or mission-critical project experience preferred
• Proven experience managing EHS teams and driving site-wide safety performance
• Strong understanding of risk management, compliance, and permit systems
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Proactive, solutions-driven approach with strong attention to detail
