Our client, a leading Main Contractor specialising in delivering high-quality solutions for complex projects, with dedication to excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction, is in need of an experienced Senior EHS Advisor. As Senior EHS Advisor you will be responsible for overseeing and promoting environmental, health, and safety standards across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with regulations, industry best practices, and company policies. You will be leading EHS initiatives, conducting audits, advising on risk management, and fostering a strong safety culture within the organisation.  

Key Responsibilities & Requirements: 

  • Lead the implementation of EHS policies and procedures, ensuring they align with regulations, company standards, and industry best practices. 

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across project sites to prevent accidents and incidents. 

  • Perform regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and project-specific requirements. 

  • Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses and prepare comprehensive reports, root cause analysis, and recommendations for corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. 

  • Ensure all project activities comply with local, national, and international EHS regulations, maintaining updated knowledge with regulatory changes and ensure implementation across the sites. 

  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs for site teams, contractors, and staff ensuring all personnel are well-informed about safety procedures and best practices. 

  • Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, contractors, and external stakeholders to promote a safety-first culture and ensure collaboration on EHS matters. 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date EHS records, including audits, inspections, incident reports, risk assessments and provide regular reports to senior management on EHS performance. 

  • Develop, review, and test emergency response plans, ensuring the organisation is prepared to handle potential safety or environmental incidents. 

  • Support the company’s environmental goals by advising on sustainability initiatives, waste management, and pollution prevention strategies. 

  • Degree/ qualifications in Health and Safety Management/NEBOSH. 

  • Proven experience in a similar role within construction. 

  • Updated understanding of health and safety principles with proven technical skills in occupational safety and health disciplines.  

  • Strong understanding of EHS regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment, and accident investigation procedures. 

  • Ability to lead and influence teams, driving a culture of safety across all levels of the organisation. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.
