We are looking for an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist to take a lead technical role within a busy architectural team delivering complex projects, with a strong focus on Irish public sector work, particularly Department of Education projects.
This role suits someone highly confident in Revit, technically strong across all project stages, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and external stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring technical quality, compliance, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical delivery of projects from design development through construction
Produce, manage, and coordinate high-quality Revit models and detailed technical drawings
Deliver projects in line with Department of Education guidelines, TGDs, and room data requirements
Ensure full compliance with Irish Building Regulations, BCAR, fire safety, accessibility, and planning requirements
Coordinate with design team members, assigned certifiers, contractors, and statutory bodies
Contribute to project programmes, technical reviews, and QA processes
Identify and manage technical risks, providing practical solutions
Apply sustainability, decarbonisation, and low-energy design principles
Mentor junior technologists and promote technical best practice
Act in roles such as Employer’s Representative and/or Assigned Certifier where required
Essential Experience & Skills
10+ years’ experience in architectural technology or a related technical role
Advanced proficiency in Revit (essential)
Strong experience delivering Department of Education and/or public sector projects
Excellent technical detailing skills across all RIBA / RIAI stages
In-depth knowledge of Irish building regulations and compliance procedures
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and coordination skills
Experience with Public Works Contracts and Employer’s Representative role beneficial
Desirable Experience
Knowledge of GCCC, RIAI, or similar Irish contract forms
Experience on school, education, or campus-style developments
Understanding of NZEB, low-carbon design, and decarbonisation strategies
Experience on refurbishment, retrofit, or live-building projects
Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience
Qualifications
Degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
