Our client is an established engineering & construction main contractor undertaking complex new build projects across Europe and the Middle East. Projects include Commercial, Industrial, Data Centres and Logistics. This organisation undertakes a full turnkey solution constructing these facilities from the initial design phase through groundworks, civils, structures / super-structure, M&E installation, fit out and handover.  Company turnover is currently €1bn and they continue to steadily year-on-year   

As they expand their footprint in the Middle East and particularly Saudi Arabia as they work towards their Vision 2030 programme, they are now seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of hyper-scale data centre in Saudi Arabia. This is a high-impact role on a technically complex, fast-paced, Tier IV project — a critical asset for cloud services and digital transformation in the region.

As Project Director, you will be fully accountable for the safe, timely, and commercially successful delivery of a state-of-the-art hyperscale data centre. Reporting directly to regional executive leadership, you will lead a large multidisciplinary team and collaborate with top-tier global clients, consultants, and technology partners.

Key Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership, direction, and oversight of a high-value, mission-critical facility
Ensure adherence to strict programme schedules, safety standards, and Tier III/IV quality benchmarks
Lead commercial strategy, cost management, and contract execution
Engage with client and consultant teams to align design, MEP integration, commissioning, and handover
Build and manage a high-performance on-site delivery team, including international subcontractors
Develop and implement risk management plans and reporting structures
Ensure full compliance with local regulatory, safety, and labour requirements

Requirements
15+ years of construction experience with a minimum of 5 years in a Project Director or equivalent leadership role
Proven track record in delivering large-scale data centres, high-tech, or mission-critical facilities ($200M+)
Strong understanding of Tier III/IV data centre design, construction, and commissioning
Experienced in working in the GCC or other international remote environments
Culturally aware and able to lead diverse, multinational teams
Degree-qualified in engineering, construction, or related discipline
Fluent in English; Arabic is advantageous but not essential
Willing to be based full-time in Saudi Arabia
