Pre-Construction Planner - Dublin


We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pre-Construction Planner to join our Dublin-based pre-construction team. This role is essential in supporting project teams during the planning and tender phases, ensuring that robust schedules and sequencing strategies are in place to deliver technically challenging construction projects efficiently and successfully.

 

As a key member of our planning division, you will collaborate closely with estimators, design managers, and project leads to create integrated programmes, coordinate procurement timelines, and assist with tender submissions that set the foundation for project success.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive tender and baseline construction programmes covering design, procurement, build, commissioning, and handover phases.
  • Lead the preparation of target (construction) programmes aimed at improving project efficiencies.
  • Create tender event schedules integrating subcontractor procurement and design release timelines.
  • Produce 2D phasing and 4D planning models to communicate construction sequence and logistics.
  • Interface with the supply chain to validate lead-in durations, labour loading, and construction periods.
  • Support tender documentation including preliminaries, staffing resource allocations, and logistics strategies.
  • Maintain structured and retrievable programme records through common data environments (CDEs).
  • Deliver programme insight to management teams and facilitate project kick-off with robust scheduling data.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in pre-construction planning for large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Certification and high proficiency in planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, MS Project).
  • Experience with BIM 4D integration and visual planning tools is an advantage.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work to tight tender deadlines.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to communicate programme logic clearly.
  • Familiarity with Irish or UK tendering and construction regulations is preferred.
