Our client, a leading High-Tech facilities contractor specialising in delivering high-quality solutions for complex projects, with dedication to excellence, innovation, and client satisfaction, is in need of an experienced Mechanical Quantity Surveyor. With a strong background in mechanical systems and excellent analytical skills, a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all aspects of the financial and contractual elements of mechanical projects involving cost estimation, budget management, & contract administration ensuring that projects are completed within their financial targets.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for mechanical works based on the design and specifications provided.
Prepare and issue tender documents for mechanical subcontractors and suppliers ensuring compliance with project requirements and budgets.
Monitor and control project costs including preparing and submitting regular financial reports such as cost forecasts and variance analysis.
Prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, pricing schedules and evaluate tender submissions from subcontractors and suppliers.
Identify and assess potential risks related to mechanical works and develop mitigation strategies.
Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
Prepare and agree on final accounts with clients, ensuring that all work is accounted for and that the project is financially closed out in a timely manner.
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
5+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in mechanical systems within the construction/engineering industries.
Pharmaceuticals, data centres, semiconductors, batteries, or biotechnology experience are desirable.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
Proficiency in quantity surveying software and financial management tools.
Excellent analytical abilities, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
