Mechanical Lead – Hyperscale Data Centre Project – Amsterdam, Netherlands
 

€100,000–€120,000 + €1,200/month Net Living Allowance + Flights + Accommodation + Rotation

An industry-leading European contractor specialising in hyperscale data centre delivery is seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to join a flagship project in Amsterdam. As the on-site lead for mechanical systems, you’ll take full ownership of complex installations from coordination through to commissioning.
 

With over 430MW of IT load under active construction, this is an opportunity to lead on a large-scale mission-critical programme within a business renowned for its technical strength and fast-track project delivery across Europe.

Role Overview:

As Mechanical Lead, you will manage all mechanical delivery on-site, ensuring high standards in quality, safety, compliance, and performance across subcontractors and internal teams. You’ll act as the focal point for client coordination, program delivery, and system handover.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee full mechanical package delivery: HVAC, chilled water, ducting, process pipework, and plant
• Manage subcontractor performance, installation sequencing, and QA/QC documentation
• Lead daily coordination with electrical, CSA, commissioning, and safety teams
• Approve and review RAMS, method statements, technical submittals, and testing plans
• Coordinate with design, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure material flow
• Ensure all works meet ISO, local regulations, and project-specific safety standards
• Track progress, update project reporting tools, and present updates to stakeholders
• Manage snagging, pre-commissioning, and system sign-off
• Be the point of contact for all client-facing mechanical matters on-site

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in a leadership or senior mechanical role within MEP contracting
• Experience delivering large-scale mechanical packages on data centre, pharma, or industrial projects
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, project planning, and health & safety standards
• Strong leadership and communication skills across all site functions
• Able to manage both technical and commercial aspects of on-site delivery
• Fluent in English and comfortable in multinational project teams
• Available for rotation-based work in Amsterdam

Salary & Package:

• €100,000 – €120,000 base salary 
• €1,200/month net living allowance (paid net)
