As a Mechanical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all mechanical installation works on-site, including HVAC, piping, plant, and associated systems.

 

You will oversee subcontractors, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and manage the commercial and technical aspects of the mechanical package to ensure seamless project delivery on time and within budget.

 

This is a rotational role with a full package, ideal for candidates with strong data centre or mission-critical project experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all client communications related to the mechanical scope of works.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments (RAMS) for all construction activities.
  • Ensure HVAC deliverables are met in line with project criteria, safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Coordinate with the wider project team to sequence installation of pipework and other systems to meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Oversee technical procurement of all mechanical equipment, specialist subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Assess and manage the commercial aspects of the project from handover through to final account.
  • Implement and monitor a two-week lookahead programme to ensure continuous workflow.
  • Lead and manage subcontractors, ensuring labour requirements are maintained to meet project needs.
  • Monitor and enforce health, safety, and environmental compliance across the site.
  • Drive high standards of quality assurance (QA) and oversee snagging and handover activities.
  • Ensure change management processes are followed for all scope variations and programme adjustments.
  • Maintain strict control over plant, materials, and site logistics to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks to maintain progress and budget adherence.
  • Support the commissioning process by coordinating with MEP teams and project leadership.

Requirements

  • Relevant mechanical qualification such as BEng, City & Guilds, HNC/BTEC, or NVQ.
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a similar role within an MEP contracting environment.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects is highly advantageous.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, piping systems, and mechanical services installation.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and project planning software.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work in fast-paced environments.
  • EU passport or legal right to work in the Netherlands.
