Our client is a well-established international contractor delivering large-scale construction projects across Europe. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and project delivery, the company operates across a diverse portfolio including commercial developments, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, and mission-critical data centre facilities.
Due to continued expansion within the data centre sector, our client is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead all HSE activities on a major data centre project in Finland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, leadership, and strategic direction of health, safety, and environmental practices on site. Working closely with senior project management, subcontractors, and client representatives, the Health & Safety Manager will ensure all works are delivered safely, in compliance with regulatory requirements, and aligned with company and client HSE expectations.
• Lead and manage all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activities across the project
• Develop, implement, and maintain HSE management systems, policies, and procedures to meet project and legal requirements
• Oversee and ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE legislation and industry standards
• Conduct and review site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, providing guidance and corrective actions
• Lead investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, including root cause analysis and preventative measures
• Provide strategic HSE guidance to project management, subcontractors, and stakeholders
• Deliver and oversee site inductions, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training programs
• Promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring all personnel and subcontractors adhere to safe working practices
• Monitor and report on HSE performance, KPIs, and regulatory compliance to senior management and clients
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure safe sequencing of works and integration of HSE requirements
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, environmental, and sustainability performance across the project
• Degree or professional qualification in Health, Safety, Environmental, or related discipline
• Extensive experience as a Health & Safety Manager in large-scale or mission-critical construction projects
• Strong knowledge of construction HSE legislation, standards, and best practices
• Proven experience in leading HSE teams, audits, inspections, and incident investigations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to implement and enforce strategic HSE initiatives across multi-disciplinary project teams
• Willingness to work on an international construction project in Finland
