Our client is an established civil engineering contractor active on a number of projects across Mainland Europe. This organisation is currently delivering underground services, groundworks and superstructure packages primarily on large-scale data centre & pharmaceutical schemes An experienced Health & Safety Advisor is now required to join the project team in Mons, Belgium working on a hyper scale data centre project. You’ll play a key role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performance working environment across all site activities. Your Role Key Responsibilities Requirements What We Offer
Working closely with the site Health & Safety Manager and project leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the HSE plan, monitoring daily site activities, engaging with operatives, and promoting a culture of safety-first throughout the workforce.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring the site-specific health & safety plan
• Carry out regular site inspections, risk assessments, and behavioral observations
• Support inductions, toolbox talks, and training activities for new and existing personnel
• Help investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring accurate reporting and follow-up
• Maintain records of safety checks, audits, and permit-to-work systems
• Liaise with subcontractors and site supervisors to ensure compliance with safety standards
• Promote good practices around PPE use, housekeeping, and safe systems of work
• 3+ years’ experience in a health & safety role within the construction or civil engineering sector
• Formal HSE qualification (e.g. NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent)
• Knowledge of Belgian or EU construction safety regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to engage site teams
• Good reporting and administrative skills
• Fluent in English; knowledge of French or Dutch is a strong advantage
• EU work eligibility required (EU passport or valid Belgian work permit)
