Cost Manager – Commercial – Birmingham We are currently partnering with a globally recognised construction consultancy with a proven track record in a variety of industries. They have a healthy pipeline of works for years to come and due to continued growth are now seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join their team in Birmingham to aid with various commercial construction projects. Responsibilities • Pre-Contract Cost Planning & Feasibility: Requirements Must have relevant degree level qualification or equivalent trades background Benefits £70,000 – £85,000 + Excellent package + Hybrid Working
Prepare detailed cost plans and feasibility estimates during early design stages, advising clients on budgets, value engineering opportunities, and commercial risks before procurement.
• Procurement & Tender Management:
Lead the preparation of bills of quantities, tender documents, and pricing schedules. Manage the tender process, analyse contractor submissions, and provide clear recommendations to clients.
• Post-Contract Commercial Management:
Administer contracts, assess valuations and payment applications, manage change control, and monitor costs against budgets throughout the construction phase.
• Client & Design Team Liaison:
Act as a key commercial advisor to clients. Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure cost-effective decision-making and clear commercial reporting.
• Reporting & Final Account Close-Out:
Produce regular cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and risk registers. Lead final account negotiations and ensure full project commercial close-out is delivered efficiently and accurately.
Must have previous consultancy experience on commercial construction projects
Must have 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
