Competitive Salary Our client is an established specialist contractor with turnover of over £50 million and extensive operations in Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Due to a full order book across all regions, our client is now looking for a dedicated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to assist in maintaining and maximizing the profitability of the projects, through timely requests for payment, minimising cost including sub-contractor, agreement of variations, securing of payments at the appropriate time and accurate reporting. Key Responsibilities & Requirements: Support the commercial team in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including tenders, variations/valuations, & final accounts. Help in managing & maintaining site records, control documents & development on site. Contribute to developing project budgets and cost plans under senior quantity surveyors' supervision. Collaborate with project teams to track cost, monitor variances, and identify cost- saving opportunities. Assist Senior Quantity Surveyor with the preparation of reports. Assist in conducting quantity takeoffs and measurements from drawings and specifications to determine the quantities materials, labor and equipment required for construction activities. Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on cost management, procurement, and project progress. Degree in Quantity Surveying. Previous experience in Quantity Surveying roles. Good understanding of commercial construction methods and best practices. Strong negotiation, analytical skills, and attention to detail. Proficiency in Quantity Surveying software and other relevant tools. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
