Kent based Group that provides collaborative construction solutions for professionals & organisations within the new build environment. They work with developers, investors, contractors, building Luxury Houses, Family Homes and High Spec Apartments, and are currently looking to add Senior Technical/Design Manager to their team within Kent & South East regions.
The successful Design Manager will be site based and MUST HAVE BOTH PRE-CONSTRUCTION & CONSTRUCTION PHASE experience. You will be involved from day one which means being involved in the appointment of the external design team / consultants seeing the scheme right through from stages 1- 6 also delivery on project. Approx 3-year project.
Our developer are construction managers for the client, on a £50m residential new build scheme in Chatham, Kent. Exciting 165 unit new build of apartments on the river front - across 5 blocks, the section 106 works is a 44 unit new build over a car-park in Gillingham.
•Degree qualified with BSc Hons in Construction Management.
•Longevity in Residential Projects and similar projects essential.
•Must be a self-starter and able to hit the ground running.
•Must be self-motivated, proactive and be able to demonstrate ability to co-ordinate and lead the design process unaided.
•Experience with Residential Developers or Main Contractors
•Develop and agree Design Programme both internally and with consultant team.
•Monitor and regularly report current position against agreed design programme.
•Deliver trade design packages on time and accurately.
•Maximise profit by keeping all costs under control.
•Control the design development and implement policies and objectives effectively.
•Review and comment on the design information and deal with all obstacles efficiently and appropriately.
•Actively review and critique drawing information during design development.
•Actively take part in regular design team and site meetings to progress site delivery.
•Ensure Compliance with requirements of Planning, Building Control and Warranty Provider and any other relevant parties.
•Deal with Statutory utilities in matters of Easements, Diversions and New Connections.
