A Section Manager position has become available with a busy main contractor in Dublin 6.

 

The Section Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the project reporting to the Contracts Manager and Site Manager and working closely with the Services Co-Ordinator, Quantity Surveyors and Sub-contractors. Managing sub-contractors and on-site personnel driving the project through to successful completion on time, within budget and to the highest standards. A manager that will take the apartment fit out from M&E 1st fix through to plaster and mist coat.

 

Duties:

 

·         Liaising with: -

Sub-contractors: to ensure programmes are maintained and services are co-ordinated effectively

Site Manager: sub-contractors programmes and co-ordination

Quantity Surveyor:  on cost issues

Site Clerk: material and plant requisitioning

Purchasing Manager: procurement of bulk items

Quality & Environmental manager: maintaining site records in accordance with ISO9001 and ISO14001 requirements

H&S Officer: promoting the implementation of the safety management system

·         Implementation of daily and weekly programmes together with the issue of programme detail to sub-contractors

·         Maintaining the site diary – recording manpower levels for each sub-contractor and keeping detailed notes of all site activities

·         Assisting with the control of plant and equipment on site

·         Co-ordinating and managing of subcontractors

·         Ensuring work is carried out to the highest of standards

·         Dealing with all health and safety issues on site

·         Ability to motivate labourers and sub-contractors

·         Provide clear leadership and direction to the site team while maintaining a professional manner is essential

 

Requirements:

 

·         7-10 years’ experience

·         Ability to work to deadlines

·         Excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills

·         Basic use of emails, computer use desirable

·         Third level degree
