My Client: My client is the UK leading specialist sub-contractor within the glass facades, glazed roofing, glass flooring and glazing market, boasting an annual turnover of £48M. My client designs, manufactures and installs bespoke architectural glass to iconic buildings throughout the UK. Projects sizes range in value from 500K to £7M and due to the nature of the stunning finishes my client offers, the vast majority of the projects they undertake are bespoke design. Due to a very buoyant market in London, my client has recently won a number of exciting new projects and therefore requires a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
Role and Responsibilities:
•Preparation of project budgets
•Checking projects Contracts
•Administering projects Contracts
•Measurement of project to check quantities against tender allowances
•Preparation of tender documents for any sub contract works and specialist suppliers
•Set budgets for, and raise payments, for subcontract labour
•Manage variations as they occur
•Producing fortnightly cost reports to the Clients
•Ensure an awareness of our key responsibilities under the contract Ensure regular agreement of site instructions with the client.
•Ensure payments are received on time in accordance with the contractual payment terms
•Ensure retention monies are released when due
•Prepare and discuss the final account for projects
•Negotiate and agree final accounts with parameters set by Line Manager
•Prepare monthly Cost Value Reports.
•My client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor who ideally has a background in Façade, glazing, Dry Lining, metal work, roofing/cladding, joinery or any similar specialist sub-contractor industry background
•Quantity Surveyors must have working knowledge of JCT 2005 & JCT 2011 contracts with and without Design Portion, D&B, and Fixed Price and any NEC form of contracts
•Quantity Surveyors will have experience of working within the Fit Out industry as a specialist contractor
•Quantity Surveyors must have 5 years working experience as a quantity surveying at intermediate level
•My client requires Quantity Surveyors with a Bachelor’s Degree in construction related subject or equivalent level
•CSCS Card holder (Preferable) Quantity
