HR Manager – Construction

Our Client is looking for an experienced HR Manager to work from the Uxbridge based Head Office, overseeing HR duties in both the UK based office and construction projects, ongoing, around the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing contractor working on projects, globally.

General Duties –

·Work in close partnership with senior management to prepare and implement HR strategy

·Support managers with all recruitment matters

·Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures

·Advise managers and provide guidance on HR policy and procedures

·Keep up to date with employment legislation

·Maintain personnel files and carry out file audits

·Keep the HR database updated with new starters, leavers, absence, payroll changes, etc.

·Manage investigations and complex employee relations issues including disciplinary and grievance.

·Ensure employee relation cases are managed to meet best practice requirements

·Monitor annual appraisals, job chats and job reviews are completed in line withcompany policy

·Generate reports and data to quantify performance and skills

·Ensure staff/candidates are eligible to work in the relevant country in which they will be based

·Sitting on company committees to provide feedback and ways to improve the resources available to employees

·Oversee and schedule employee counselling and other services where necessary

·Collate individual employees’ sickness and annual leave entitlements.

·Manage staff accommodation and live-in agreements where necessary

·Carry out exit interviews

·Undertake any other reasonable tasks allocated by the Senior Management

·Manage disciplinary hearings, coaching managers on the best practice approach.

·Manage handling and investigation of grievance claims

·Managing redundancy and restructure exercises when necessary

·Prepare and produce letters, memos and correspondence as required.

·Prepare payroll forms as and when required.

·Attend meetings and take minutes as required.

·Carry out any other reasonable ad hoc duties in order to support the HR department

Person Specification

Education and Professional Qualifications

·Educated to degree level with a professional qualification in HR Management

·Achieved Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) qualification and membership

Skills and Experience

·Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience of working in a senior HR role

·Experience of working in a busy HR environment

·Proven ability to lead and manage a team

·Excellent ability to communicate at all levels

·Meticulous attention to detail ? Excellent organisation skills

·Excellent IT skills with experience of MS Office applications and computerised personnel management packages

·Appreciates and understands the need of confidentiality within the role

·Construction HR background preferable.
