Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor - Public Sector – Germany We are currently partnering with a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy to appoint a Freelance Senior MEP Quantity Surveyor to support major public works projects across Germany. This position requires strong technical capability in mechanical and electrical cost management, familiarity with public sector procurement, and the ability to operate confidently within German-speaking environments. The successful professional will provide commercial leadership, ensure robust cost control, and collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and design teams to drive successful project delivery across complex, high-profile schemes. Take ownership of all MEP commercial activities including cost planning, estimating, benchmarking, budget development, and ensuring alignment with public works procurement frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee Procurement & Contract Administration
Prepare tender documentation, support contractor selection, evaluate bids, negotiate commercial terms, and administer MEP contracts in accordance with German public sector standards and project governance protocols.
• Manage Valuations, Forecasting & Change Control
Carry out monthly valuations, assess variations and claims, manage change control processes, maintain accurate financial forecasts, and prepare detailed commercial reports for clients and senior stakeholders.
• Provide Technical and Commercial Assurance
Review MEP design information, specifications, and technical documentation to confirm cost accuracy, identify risks and opportunities, and provide informed commercial insights to support project decision-making.
• Lead Stakeholder Engagement in German-Speaking Environments
Coordinate effectively with German clients, authorities, consultants, and contractors, ensuring clear communication, transparent commercial management, and compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
Successful candidate must have 8+ years’ experience in a similar role preferably on Public Sector projects
Must have relevant degree level qualification or equivalent trades’ background
