Our client is a leading international contractor delivering complex, large-scale construction projects across Europe. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and high-quality project delivery, the company operates across a wide range of sectors including commercial developments, advanced manufacturing, infrastructure, and mission-critical data centre facilities.
Due to continued growth within the data centre sector, our client is seeking an experienced M&E Project Lead to join the delivery team on a major data centre project in Portugal.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the full Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) scope of works, ensuring safe, coordinated, and high-quality delivery across all project phases from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with project directors, construction teams, commercial teams, subcontractors, and client representatives, the M&E Project Lead will play a critical role in driving performance, coordination, and delivery certainty across all building services.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior project leadership and discipline leads to ensure all M&E works are fully integrated, planned, and executed in line with programme requirements, technical specifications, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the full Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) scope on a large-scale data centre project in Portugal
• Oversee planning, coordination, installation, and delivery of all M&E systems from construction through to commissioning and handover
• Manage subcontractors and specialist vendors, ensuring performance, productivity, and quality targets are achieved
• Ensure full integration of mechanical and electrical works with CSA, commissioning, and project controls teams
• Work closely with commercial teams to monitor budgets, control costs, and manage variations
• Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring alignment across all disciplines and key milestones
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with design specifications, contracts, and regulatory requirements
• Lead coordination meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and client representatives
• Identify and mitigate project risks, resolving technical and delivery challenges proactively
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards across all M&E activities
• Support commissioning, testing, and handover processes to ensure successful project completion
• Provide regular reporting on progress, performance, risks, and key deliverables
• Drive a strong site culture focused on safety, quality, coordination, and delivery excellence
