Senior Authorised Person (Electrical) – Data Centre Projects Location: Helsinki, Finland A leading European engineering contractor specialising in mission-critical infrastructure is seeking a Senior Authorised Person (Electrical) to join a major hyperscale data centre programme in Helsinki. This is the lead electrical safety authority on site, accountable for implementing and enforcing the Electrical Safe System of Work (ESSoW) across HV/MV/LV systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a rigorous approach to safety governance within complex live environments.
The Senior Authorised Person (SAP) is the highest-level electrical safety representative on the project. You will manage electrical control boundaries, oversee energisation and isolation procedures, enforce permit systems, and ensure full compliance with jurisdictional and project-specific safety standards. This role is critical to ensuring safe commissioning, switching, and operational readiness of data centre electrical infrastructure.
• Full responsibility for live and potentially live systems under your control • Perform and supervise pre- and post-connection testing • Act as the primary electrical safety interface on the project Essential Criteria • Qualified Electrician (National Craft Certificate or Level 6+ equivalent)
• €95,000 – €100,000 base salary

Key Responsibilities
• Implement and enforce Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
• Manage and audit the Electrical Safety Permit System
• Plan and approve HV/MV/LV switching and energisation plans
• Identify arc flash risks and ensure PPE compliance
• Conduct live-dead-live testing and fault diagnosis
• Review and manage commissioning processes (L2B–L5 & IST)
• Oversee tagging and energisation protocols
• Review SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and vendor documentation
• Monitor subcontractors for compliance with SOPs and legislation
• Manage emergency lock removal procedures
• Ensure familiarity with switchgear, ACBs, MCCBs, busbar systems, VSDs, MCCs, panels and final circuits
• HV and LV Authorised Person training completed within last 2 years
• 10–15 years’ experience on large-scale electrical infrastructure projects
• Proven HV/MV/LV switching and safety governance experience
• Data centre, DNO/IDNO, power generation, or critical infrastructure background
• Strong knowledge of national electrical installation regulations
• Commissioning and energisation experience
• Strong leadership and decision-making capability
