A leading European engineering and construction specialist is seeking an experienced Planner to join a major data centre project in Ballycoolin, Dublin — one of Ireland’s key hyperscale data centre hubs.

This contractor delivers complex, high-value engineering and construction projects across enterprise data centres, hyperscale campuses, advanced technology, and mission-critical infrastructure throughout Europe.
 

As Planner, you will take ownership of the full planning lifecycle, ensuring programme certainty from pre-construction through commissioning and handover. You will be instrumental in protecting the critical path, managing risk, supporting commercial processes, and providing clear programme visibility to senior stakeholders.
 

This is a senior-level opportunity within a high-performing project team delivering cutting-edge infrastructure.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for project planning in line with company Planning SOP
• Develop and maintain detailed logic-linked construction programmes
• Create and manage schedules covering pre-construction, construction, and commissioning
• Monitor critical path activities and drive mitigation strategies where required
• Maintain and update progress databases and reporting dashboards
• Conduct delay analysis, float analysis, and milestone projections
• Implement and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) systems
• Monitor productivity and schedule performance metrics
• Carry out regular site audits to verify progress accuracy
• Lead and attend planning meetings with project management, client, and subcontractors
• Prepare tender programmes and support bid submissions when required
• Develop manpower histograms and resource forecasts
• Support short-term planning systems including weekly lookahead and workface planning
• Resource load and cash load programmes
• Provide programme data to support valuations and payment applications
• Record delay, disruption, and variation impacts
• Assist in preparation of claims and contractual reporting
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and quality control of all planning documentation
• Support and mentor junior planners where required
• Deputise for Planning Manager when necessary


Essential Criteria

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience planning large-scale construction projects
• Strong data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission-critical experience preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Earned Value Management, and Excel
• Clear understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies
• Proven ability to build fully logic-linked programmes from drawings, BIM models, and scopes
• Capable of managing planning responsibilities with minimal supervision
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management ability
• Comfortable working in fast-track, high-pressure environments
