Our client is a specialist data centre main contractor delivering a full turnkey solution on New Build Data Centre projects across Europe, covering civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and commissioning works. Group turnover is already in excess of €1.5bn and their order book is full for the next 3-years.
Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a major data centre development in Norway.
The MEP Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of the mechanical and electrical packages, ensuring cost control, value optimisation, and accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage the commercial aspects of MEP packages from procurement through to final account.
• Prepare, review, and manage budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts for MEP works.
• Administer subcontractor packages, including valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Assess change events and variations, providing accurate cost and commercial impact analysis.
• Support procurement activities, including tender evaluation and contract negotiations.
• Prepare monthly cost value reconciliation (CVR) reports for MEP scopes.
• Work closely with project, design, and engineering teams to ensure commercial alignment.
• Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or performance.
• Ensure compliance with contractual and commercial procedures.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects.
• Previous experience on data centre, pharmaceutical, or other mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, subcontractor procurement, and commercial management.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Norway or the Nordic region is advantageous.
