MEP Lead – Data Centre Project (Sintra, Lisbon, Portugal)
Salary: €115,000 - €125,000 + Accommodation + Transport + Rotation 17/4 + €1,000 Living Cost p/m Sector: Data Centre / Mission Critical

We are seeking an experienced MEP Lead to oversee mechanical, electrical, and plumbing delivery on a major data centre project in Portugal. This role involves leading multidisciplinary teams through design, construction, commissioning, and final handover, ensuring all MEP systems are delivered to the highest standards.

The position requires strong technical leadership, excellent coordination skills, and extensive experience working on large-scale, high-tech, or mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and coordinate all MEP services across design, installation, commissioning, and handover
• Oversee MEP teams including engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors
• Conduct and approve technical reviews, design documentation, submittals, and method statements
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and safety regulations
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to maintain alignment and resolve issues promptly
• Identify and mitigate design and construction conflicts to maintain project schedule
• Drive commissioning readiness and ensure smooth system handover
• Support project planning, progress tracking, forecasting, and reporting
• Ensure all MEP activities integrate seamlessly with structural, architectural, and specialist disciplines

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience on large-scale construction or mission-critical projects
• Strong background in MEP systems, coordination, and installation methodologies
• Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams
• Experience in data centre, industrial, or high-tech environments is highly desirable
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
