Mechanical Supervisor 

Data Centre Project, Cologne, Germany

Our client is a leading engineering and construction main contractor delivering major new-build data centre projects across Northern and Central Europe. They provide full turnkey solutions from initial design and groundworks through to structural build, MEP installation, commissioning and handover. With a turnover of €1.3bn and annual growth of 10–15%, they continue to expand across the region.
They are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join the delivery team on a €500m+ hyperscale data centre project in Cologne, Germany 

Key responsibilities include:
• Supervising mechanical subcontractors and monitoring daily progress against the construction schedule
• Ensuring all mechanical works are completed safely and in accordance with company Health and Safety procedures
• Overseeing installation of mechanical systems such as HVAC, chilled water, CRAC/CRAHS, fuel systems, and other mission-critical equipment to ensure compliance with design, specifications and project requirements
• Conducting regular quality inspections of mechanical installations and associated CSA works to ensure they meet required standards
• Coordinating with electrical, civil, architectural and commissioning teams to maintain workflow and meet programme milestones
• Assisting in resolving technical queries, ensuring clear communication and proper documentation
• Identifying sequencing issues, access constraints or risks and feeding this into planning and coordination discussions
• Supporting commissioning readiness by verifying mechanical systems are installed to the correct standard and are ready for testing
• Providing weekly updates on progress, quality, risks and any items affecting mechanical delivery

The ideal candidate will hold a degree or technical qualification in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering, or have a strong mechanical trade background. They will have at least 5 years of site-based mechanical or MEP supervisory experience, preferably on hyperscale or mission-critical data centre projects, with strong knowledge of mechanical installation and commissioning requirements.
