LV AP – Commercial – Central London Our client is a large and well-established MEP Sub-Contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major Mechanical & Electrical Packages on behalf of Tier:1 main contractors involved in ‘technology’ schemes including Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Semi-Conductor plants and heavy industrial projects. Due to continued growth, our client is now seeking an experienced LV AP to join their team based on a Commercial build in Central London. Responsibilities Control and Supervision of LV Electrical Systems: Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience working on large-scale commercial or mixed-use construction projects in an electrical installation or commissioning role, with at least 2 years as an LV AP Benefits £50,000 - £60,000 + Benefits
Act as the appointed Authorised Person for Low Voltage systems on site, ensuring all isolation, energisation, and switching activities are planned, executed, and recorded in accordance with safety rules and company procedures.
Permit-to-Work Management:
Issue, manage, and close LV permits-to-work for electrical installation, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring all works are carried out safely and with full awareness of live systems and potential hazards.
Ensure Compliance with Electrical Safety Regulations:
Maintain strict adherence to BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), Health & Safety at Work Act, and company Electrical Safety Rules. Regularly audit site practices and take corrective actions to eliminate unsafe conditions.
Interface with Project and Commissioning Teams:
Coordinate closely with project engineers, site supervisors, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to ensure LV systems are installed, tested, and energised safely and in line with the programme and project milestones.
Maintain Records and Technical Documentation:
Keep accurate records of switching schedules, test results, isolation procedures, and permits. Ensure all documentation is up to date and made available for audits, client inspections, and final handover.
Must hold valid LV Authorised person certificate
Must have UK Passport or RTW in the UK
